David Carl Laughter, age 53, resident of the Mason Community and husband of Shelia Morrisson Laughter, departed this life Friday afternoon, August 21, 2015 at the Regional One Medical Center in Memphis.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Laughter were conducted at 1 P.M. Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Dr. Danny Sinquefield, pastor of the Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett, officiating. Special music was provided by Marty Hazlerig, soloist. Interment followed in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Hickory Withe. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Laughter was born April 10, 1962 in Memphis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Clayton Laughter and Julia Francis Coleman Laughter. He attended Fayette Ware High School in Somerville and was a resident of the Hickory Withe and Mason communities his entire life. On June 8, 1984, he was wed to the former Shelia Morrisson of Hickory Withe, who survives.
In addition to his wife of 31 years, Mr. Laughter leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Cody Laughter and his wife Loretta of Braden, Hunter Laughter of Mason and his fiancé Jade Robbins of Covington, his sister Lorie Cagle of Bartlett, brother Jimmy Laughter of Branson, MO, and his grandson Cameron Laughter of Braden and future grandson Dalton Laughter.
Mr. Laughter was a tree arborist for over 30 years and most recently owned L & L Tree Service for the past 10 years. Mr. Laughter was a member of the Keeling Baptist Church in the Keeling Community of Haywood County and enjoyed special times with his family. He enjoyed outdoor activities that included hunting, fishing, wildlife, and road trips.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Mike Solley, Wesley Thornton, David Thornton, Nick Scarbrough, Hunter Laughter and Jon Wallace.
