Debra Denise (Ethridge) Nester

Debra Denise Ethridge Nester, age 60, resident of Oakland and former resident of Trussville, Alabama, departed this life Wednesday afternoon, August 26, 2015 at her residence.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Nester will be conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, August 31, 2015 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Aaron Armstrong, minister at Revolution Church in Oakland, officiating. A visitation for Mrs. Nester will be from 1 to 2 P.M. Monday, August 31, 2015 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Nester was born August 12, 1955 in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of the former Bernice Hambright and the late Oscar Ethridge. She received her education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and was formerly employed as a laboratory technician at Saint Vincents Blount, Blount Memorial Hospital and St. Vincent’s Health Systems, all in Alabama. She was a former resident of Trussville, Alabama and most recently was a resident of Oakland. Mrs. Nester loved University of Alabama football and her pet chihuahuas.
Mrs. Nester is survived by her daughter, April Lynne Perry of Alabaster, AL; two sons, Jay Merchant of Pearland, TX, Brian Merchant of Moscow; her mother, Bernice James of Snead, AL; two brothers, Oscar Ethridge of Oakland, Frank James of Snead, AL; and five grandchildren.
