Dennis Ray Woodruff, resident of the Fisherville Community and employee of Sears in Memphis for a number of years before his illness died Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. He was 54 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Private Family Funeral Services for Mr. Woodruff were conducted on Saturday, December 3rd and arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — West Chapel of Oakland.
Mr. Woodruff was born May 29, 1957 in Paris, Tennessee, the son of Peggy Sue Mansfield Woodruff and the late Lowell Dean Woodruff. He moved at an early age to the Memphis area and received his education in the Memphis City School System. He was employed as a small engine repairman and technician for Sears for a number of years before retiring two years ago for health reasons.
He was a member of the Fisherville First Baptist Church and had been a resident of the Fisherville Community for 20 years. He enjoyed motorcross riding and racing in earlier years.
Mr. Woodruff is survived by his son, Johnny McCracken of Byhalia, MS; his mother, Peggy Sue Mansfield Woodruff of Fisherville Community; three brothers, David Dean Woodruff of Dresden, TN, Donald Ross Woodruff of Piperton, Daryl Wayne Woodruff of Fisherville Community; and one grandchild.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Fisherville First Baptist Church, 11893 Macon Road, Eads, TN 38028.
