Desantes Maxel “Sandy” Williams, Piperton resident and master mechanic died Friday evening, October 28, 2011 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis where he had been a patient for two weeks. He was 66 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Williams were conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, October 31st at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Loyd Shelton officiating. Private interment at a later date will be in the Magnolia Cemetery at Collierville. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — West Chapel of Oakland.
Mr. Williams was born June 20, 1945 in Paragould, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Maxel Williams and Mary Ruth Gipson Williams. He was educated in the Manica, Arkansas Public School System.
Mr. Williams is survived by two sons, Charlie Williams (Tonya) of Collierville, Terry Williams (Lisa) of Collierville; two sisters, Rosemary Reeder of Collierville, Denese Bennett of Collierville; two brothers, Danny Williams of Collierville, Terry Williams of Rossville; four grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were family and friends.
