Diana Rose Jerden, age 72, resident of the Moscow Community and retired teacher, departed this life Monday morning, August 10, 2015 at the National HealthCare Center in Somerville.
Services of Remembrance for Miss Jerden were conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, August 14, 2015 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Stephen White officiating. Interment was in the Forest Hill South Cemetery in Memphis. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Miss Jerden was born November 25, 1942 in Memphis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Jerden and Elsie Stroud Jerden. She received her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Memphis and was a member of the Somerville First Baptist Church. Miss Jerden served as a teacher at Memphis City Schools for a number of years before her retirement. She enjoyed reading, decorating and special times with her family.
Miss Jerden leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Carol Kimery of Moscow, Sandra Holmes of Moscow; two brothers, J.L. Jerden (Jane) of Atlanta, GA, Terry Jerden (Peggy) of Kennesaw, GA; nine nephews, five nieces, nine great nephews and seventeen great nieces.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ann Carson and her brother, Edward D. Jerden.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor’s choice.
