Diane (Hillman) Featherstone

Lillian Diane Hillman Featherstone, resident of the Somerville Community, employee of Fowler Gin Company before her illness and wife of Terry Featherstone died Tuesday morning, May 29, 2012 at the Methodist Hospital in Somerville. She was 59 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Featherstone were conducted at 11 A.M. Friday, June 1st at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Dr. Ken Story of the Somerville First Baptist Church officiating. Interment followed in the Hebron Cemetery in the Bethlehem Community of Fayette County. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Featherstone was born February 3, 1953 in Somerville, the daughter of Mary Elizabeth Buffaloe Hillman and the late Coleman Gee Hillman. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and was a lifelong resident of Fayette County. Mrs. Featherstone was of the Baptist faith and was employed as the Office Manager for Fowler Gin and Warehouse in Somerville as long as health permitted.

Diane’s interests included flowers and gardening. She was a collector of Coke memorabilia and enjoyed food preparation for family and friends. She will be remembered as a caring person and devoted to her family and many friends.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Featherstone is survived by her daughter, Deanna Michelle Clayton Gaad of Jackson, TN; three sons, Brian O’Neal Clayton of Oakland, Christopher Michael Featherstone of Memphis, William Walter Featherstone of Memphis; her mother, Mary Elizabeth Buffaloe Hillman of Somerville; two sisters, Donna Jean Hillman Davis of Sulphur, OK, Janet Darlene Hillman Holmes of Oakridge, TN; her brother, Richard Douglas Hillman of Oakland; and seven grandchildren.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Jared Davis, Jason Davis, Clyde Buffaloe, Terry Chambers, Carlton Chambers, Randy  Chambers and Randall Cartwright.
