DIANE HARVEY
1943-2010
Diane Carter Harvey resident of Memphis and native of the Saulsbury Community in Hardeman County died Wednesday afternoon, July 28, 2010 at the Methodist North Hospital in Memphis. She was 67 years of age and died following an extended illness of several months.
A Service of Remembrance for Mrs. Harvey was conducted at 4 PM Friday, July 30
th
at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Personal Reflections given by her brother-in-law, Bill Bradford. Interment will be private and arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes at Oakland.
Mrs. Harvey was born July 23, 1943 in Hardeman County, the daughter of the late Bill Carter and Grace Bryant Carter. She was educated in the Grand Junction, Tennessee Public School System and had been a resident of Memphis most of her adult life. She was committed to helping women during difficult times and served as a Licensed Prosthetic Fitter for “A Fitting Place” on Poplar Avenue in Memphis as well as other locations before her retirement in 2004.
Mrs. Harvey was of the Christian faith and is survived by her daughter, Susan Bingham of Somerville, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, her sister, Billye Bradford (Bill) of Memphis, her brothers, Jimmy Carter of Memphis, Chuck Carter of Phoenix, AZ, Eddy Carter of Middleton and Doug Carter of Denver, CO.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor’s choice.
