Linda Diane Carroll Medina, resident of Brownsville and former resident of the Longtown-Braden Communities of Fayette died Wednesday evening, November 23, 2011 at the Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven, MS. She was 54 years of age and died unexpectedly.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Medina will be at 3 P.M. Wednesday, December 7th at Peebles Main Funeral Chapel at Somerville with Bro. John Davis of Mississippi officiating. Interment will be private in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery at Oakland. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville. A visitation for Mrs. Medina will be one hour before services at Peebles Main Chapel at Somerville.
Mrs. Medina was born October 12, 1957 in Memphis. She was preceded in death by her parents, George William Carroll and Joann Blackburn Carroll of Fayette County. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and resided in the Longtown Community and Mississippi before moving to the Stanton and Brownsville areas of Haywood County.
She was of the Baptist faith and was an employee of the MTC-Cub Cadet Corporation in Brownsville for a number of years before retiring for health reasons. She will be remembered as an avid shopper who enjoyed NASCAR racing, boating and camping. Visiting with friends and family members and trips to the casinos were favorite pastimes.
Mrs. Medina is survived by her daughter, Carolann Marie Howell of Brownsville; two sons, William Eddings of Horn Lake, MS, Joseph Eddings of Memphis; three sisters, Brenda Ide of Stanton, TN, Georgeanna Hall of Oakland, Tena Dawson of Laconia Community; eight grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Honorary casketbearers were Rafael Medina, Craig Chandler, Chad Johnson, Tommy Williams, George Whittemore, R.J. Maturen, B.J. Williams, Joey Williams and Dustin Hall.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor’s choice.
