Don Culp

Don Culp, age 74, resident of Lakeland and husband of Phyllis May Culp, departed this life Wednesday morning, November 25, 2015.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Culp were conducted at 3 P.M. Sunday, December 6, 2015 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Interment was private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.
Don was born November 8, 1941 in Caruthersville, Missouri and moved with his family to Arkansas. He graduated from Marked Tree High School in 1959 and was married to the former Phyllis May. He was a former resident of Texas and was employed in the office at H & M Glass in Dallas, Texas. Don served as a baseball umpire in Minor League Baseball for many years and was a member of the Peace Tabernacle in Mesquite, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Culp moved to the Lakeland area four years ago.
Don is survived by his wife of 53 years, Phyllis May Culp of Lakeland; his daughter, Teena Cory (Stuart) of Eads; his son, Shane Culp (Consuelo) of Dallas, Texas; his grandson, Brett Hartwig of Lakeland; and two brothers, Danny Culp (Teri) of Memphis and Dwayne Culp (Shenia) of Blytheville, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Culp and Syble Carter Culp and his brother, Dale Culp.
