Donna (Skinner) Wilson

Donna Skinner Wilson, age 75, resident of the Fisherville Community and wife of the late Charles W. "Bill" Wilson, Sr., departed this life Sunday afternoon, April 23, 2017 at the Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Wilson were conducted at 11 A.M. Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Collierville First Baptist Church with Bro. Les Helton officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Wilson was born October 23, 1941 in Alexandria, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Thomas Childs Skinner and Blanche Leona Ishmael Skinner. She moved with her family at a young age, was a graduate of Bartlett High School, Class of 1959 and the University of Memphis. She was married March 23, 1967 to Charles William “Bill” Wilson, Sr., who preceded her in death on June 9, 2016. Mrs. Wilson was employed as a teacher for many years and was a homemaker throughout her life. She was a devoted member of the Collierville First Baptist Church and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She taught baton twirling in earlier years and enjoyed arts and crafts and special times with her family.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by three sons, Charles W. “Chuck” Wilson, Jr. (Jackie) of Collierville, TN, Thomas L. Wilson (Angi) of Southaven, MS, Christopher E. Wilson of Collierville, TN; her sister, Elaine Shelly (Frederick "Freddy") of Savannah, TN; four grandchildren, Katie Roberts, Christopher Bankston, John Phillips, Anthony Bankston; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were family members and friends and the family requests that memorials be directed to LeMoyne Owen College, 807 Walker Avenue, Memphis, TN 38126.
