DOROTHY JUNE DeYOUNG HOLLAND

September 8, 1932 — June 23, 2009

DOROTHY JUNE DeYOUNG "DOTTIE" HOLLAND, a resident of Spring Hill, Florida and wife of the late Carl Clifford Holland died at 12:12 A.M. Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the home of her son in Oakland, where she had resided for the past two months. She was 76 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services and interment for Mrs. Holland were private and arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.

Mrs. Holland was born September 8, 1932 in Elmira, New York, the daughter of the late Peter DeYoung and Naomi Knapp DeYoung.

She was a graduate of the Huntington High School in New York and was married August 9, 1952 to Carl Clifford Holland, who preceded her in death on February 15, 2007.

Mrs. Holland had been a resident of Spring Hill Florida for the past twelve years and was of the Baptist Faith.

She was a homemaker throughout her life and her interests included golf, gardening and sewing.

She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors of Mrs. Holland include two daughters, Nancy Holland Lee of Seneca, South Carolina and Lynn Ann Holland of Portland, Maine;  son, Wayne Clifford Holland and wife Vickie of Oakland; foster son, Thomas Floyd Haff (Melody) of Seattle, Washington; three sisters: Betty Dillon (Jim) of Vera, FL; Kathryn Axelsen (Richard) of Vera, FL and Nancy Stevens (Wayne) of Marietta, GA; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
