Dorothy Jean (Kimery) Jones

Dorothy Jean “Dot” Kimery Jones, age 69, resident of Somerville and wife of Jimmy Lee Jones, departed this life Monday afternoon, January 25, 2016 at her residence.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Jones were conducted at 1 P.M. Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Somerville First Baptist Church. The officiating ministers were Bro. Don Hammons of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church and Bro. Stan Smith of the Somerville First Baptist Church. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Jones was born January 9, 1947 in Somerville. She was a graduate of Fayette Ware High School and was married to Jimmy Lee Jones for 49 years. She was employed as a quality control technician at Constar in Collierville for 35 years before her retirement. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Somerville First Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Fayette County. She enjoyed reading books, traveling, shopping and flowers.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, Jimmy Lee Jones of Somerville; two daughters, Sandra Rutledge (Jake) of Laconia, Jessica Ozbirn (Nathan) of Rienzi, MS; her adopted son, David Follmann, Sr. (Joan) of Somerville; three sisters, Joyce Earnest of Moscow, Betty Faye Davis (Rich) of Moscow, Betty Ann Bloodgood (Thomas) of Moscow; her brother, Buddy Kimery (Elaine) of Moscow; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nolan “Bill” Kimery and Aileen Nix Kimery and her daughter, Mary Alice Jones.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Jay Glover, Joey Bloodgood, Kevin Glover, Brandon Glover, Kenneth Earnest and Dwayne Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Jones, Bobby McBride and Robert Kimery.
