Dorothy Nell (Smith) Moss

Mrs. Dorothy Nell Smith Moss of Somerville, Tennessee, departed this life on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the National HealthCare Center in Somerville. She was 90 years of age and was a lifelong resident of Fayette County.

Her parents were the late George Washington Smith and Rosa Moody Smith. She was born on October 11, 1927 in the Williston Community. She spent her childhood years in the Jones Chapel area near Williston and was educated in Fayette County Schools. On August 19, 1945, she was united in marriage to William Vester Moss, who died on November 24, 1996. They were married for 51 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Somerville.

Mrs. Moss is survived by two daughters, Patsy Moss Rich (Gary) of Somerville, TN, Judy Moss Smith (Earl) of LaGrange, TN; three grandsons, Barrett Rich (Rosemary), Adrian Smith, Justin Smith (Kimberly); and four great-grandchildren, Alexis Rich, Dellarose Ward, Waverly Smith and Alena Claire Smith.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Moss were conducted at 1 P.M. Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Somerville. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Gary Rich, Earl Smith, Adrian Smith, Barrett Rich, Justin Smith and Justin Lewis.
