Dorothy Lee Noe

DOROTHY LEE HICKS "DOT" NOE, a resident of the Arlington Community and wife of the late James F. Noe died at 8:32 P.M. Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at the Gallaway Health Care Center where she had been a resident for one year. She was 65 years of age and died following an extended illness.


Funeral services for Mrs. Noe were conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, September 15th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Ron Grunewald, Pastor of the Gallaway First Baptist Church officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Hwy. 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home-West Chapel.


Mrs. Noe was born May 23, 1942 in Shelby County the daughter of the late Stanley Hicks and the late Rosie Mae Tatum Hicks. She was educated in the Arlington Public School system and was a lifelong resident of Fayette and Shelby Counties. She was of the Christian Faith and was a homemaker throughout her life.


Mrs. Noe enjoyed crafts and flower gardening. Known for her independent nature, she was a private person who cherished special times with her family and her constant companion, a pet poodle named "Gracie Mae".


Survivors of Mrs. Noe include two daughters, Virginia Ann Wells of Dyersburg and Rubye Noe of Arlington; two sons, Dewey Noe of Whiteville and Robert Noe of Brunswick, TN.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.


Those honored to serve as casketbearers included Will Davis, Tony Ballard, D.J. Noe, Raymond Davis, Gary Kyzar and Tommy Noe.
