DOROTHY ELIZABETH BUTLER NUNNALLY, a resident of the Eads Community and wife of the late Edward W. Nunnally died Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the Applingwood HealthCare Center in Cordova where she had resided for seven months. She was 82 years of age and died following an extended illness.
A gathering of family members and friends for Mrs. Nunnally occurred Saturday, February 27th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel in Oakland. Interment will be private and arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.
Mrs. Nunnally was born in Richmond, Virginia on October 26, 1927. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Otho Butler and Carrie Sharp Butler.
She was educated in the Richmond, Virginia Public School System and was married on August 15, 1946 to Edward W. Nunnally who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Nunnally was a former resident of Richmond, Virginia and had resided in the Eads Community for the past eight years.
She was a Baptist and in earlier years received much enjoyment in caring for the infants in the nursery of her church.
A devoted homemaker throughout her life Mrs. Nunnally will be remembered as a spiritual person who loved her family and enjoyed helping others.
Survivors of Mrs. Nunnally include her daughter, Dottie Shelton of Eads; her son, Bill Nunnally of Richmond, VA; her sister-in-law, Banie Luck of Richmond, VA; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
