Dorothy (Woodward) Sheets

Dorothy Woodward Sheets, age 85, resident of Oakland and wife of the late Robert L. Sheets, departed this life Tuesday morning, September 20, 2016 at the National HealthCare Center in Somerville.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Sheets were conducted at 3 P.M. Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Warren Adams, former director of the National HealthCare Center, officiating. Interment was at 10:45 A.M. Monday, September 26, 2016 in the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery near Germantown. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Sheets was born February 8, 1931 in Memphis, the daughter of the late Alfred Woodward and Mary Elizabeth Meyers Woodward. She was a graduate of Southside High School in Memphis Class of 1948. She was married February 12, 1949 to Robert L. Sheets, who preceded her in death in 2002. Mrs. Sheets was a member of the Oakland First Baptist Church and enjoyed preparing food, sewing and gardening.
Mrs. Sheets is survived by her daughter, Alice Walker and her husband, Ron, of Oakland and her grandson, Ronald Edward Walker II of St. Louis, Missouri.
