Dorothy Elizabeth Tharnish Youngblood, age 89, beloved wife of James S. Youngblood, passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday night, January 5, 2016.
She was the daughter of Arthur & Eunice Tharnish and was born in Memphis in a house near 3rd Street & E. H. Crump Boulevard.
In addition to her husband of 69 years, James S. Youngblood, she leaves her daughter, Sherrie Mason of Bartlett; her son, Jim Ronald Youngblood of Cordova; grandchildren, Kim Love, James David Youngblood, Ben W. Mason II, Jenny Lee Youngblood DVM; and two great grandsons, Tristan & Sam.
Dorothy was primarily a housewife, but enjoyed a few years working at Automatic Canteen & Advertising Bureau. Her proudest possessions were her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. Her two children consider her recipes for Turkey & Dressing and Potato Salad the “Best in the World”.
She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Randy Wayne Youngblood.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Youngblood will be at 11 A.M. Saturday, January 16, 2016 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 6529 Stage Road, Bartlett, TN 38134. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 A.M. Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the St. Ann Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Ann Catholic Church, 6529 Stage Road, Bartlett, TN 38134.
