Dwain Conn Parks, age 76, resident of Somerville, Tennessee, departed this life Wednesday evening, May 29, 2024.
Dwain was born January 11, 1948 in Somerville, the son of the late Carroll Conn Parks and Mabel Treadway Parks. He graduated from Fayette County High School and was a farmer for much of his life. Mr. Parks had a love for baseball and helped build the ball fields at Morris Chambers Ballpark, and horses, especially riding horses with his friends. He enjoyed fishing and working on his farm equipment.
Mr. Parks is survived by two daughters, Amy Payne (Kenny) of Savannah, TN and Amanda Smith (Benny) of Brighton, TN; his son, Brian Parks of Drummonds, TN; two sisters, Mary Irene “Cookie” Parks of Somerville, TN and Connie Ferge (Fernon) of Somerville, TN; his brother, Carl Parks (Chalet) of Somerville, TN; five grandchildren, Amber Hamilton (Chad) of Medina, TN, Savannah Butler (Hunter) of Michie, TN, Cody Hoots of Brighton, TN, Allie Bea Smith of Brighton, TN and Justin Payne of Brighton, TN; and his great-grandson, Emmitt Adams of Medina, TN.
Funeral Services for Mr. Parks were held at 2 P.M. Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Parks Chapel Church with Karen Wagehals officiating. Interment followed in Parks Chapel Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Tommy Rogers, David Earl Thompson, John Osborne, Kenny Payne, Benny Smith and Randy Walk. Honorary pallbearers included Tim Parks.
