Eber "Jukie" Hoyt Wages

Eber Hoyt “Jukie” Wages, age 88, resident of Oakland and husband of the late Joann McCarter Wages, departed this life Wednesday morning, July 5, 2017 at the National HealthCare Center in Somerville.
Services and Interment for Mr. Wages were private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Wages was born November 25, 1928 in New Albany, Mississippi, the son of the late Eber Wages and the late Lois Stanford Wages. He received his education in the Union County, Mississippi Public School System and was married for 65 years to the former Joann McCarter, who preceded him in death on September 26, 2012. He was employed as a machine operator for Nickey Brothers and Wabash Screen & Door Company in Memphis before his retirement. Mr. Wages was a member of the Macon Church of Christ and he enjoyed fishing, gardening and special times with his family members and friends.
Mr. Wages is survived by his daughter, Susan Wright (Wayne) of Oakland, TN; his son, Sammy Ray Wages of Oakland, TN; and his grandson, Jordan Wright of Oakland, TN.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kimeron Wages.
