Eddie Michael "Mike" Holland

Eddie Michael “Mike” Holland, age 65, resident of Bolivar, former resident of Fayette County and husband of Sherry D. Holland, departed this life Tuesday morning, August 23, 2016 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Memphis.

Services of Remembrance with Military Honors for Mr. Holland were conducted at 11 A.M. Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Kevin Treadway of Somerville officiating. Interment followed in the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Memphis. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Holland was born November 26, 1950 in Somerville. He received his education in the Memphis School System and served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War period. He was married July 7, 2007 to the former Sherry D. Thearp and he was a resident of Memphis, Fayette County for 20 years and Bolivar for nine years. Mr. Holland was of the Baptist faith and attended Hebron Baptist Church in Middleton. He enjoyed operating heavy equipment and farming, camping and “being on a tractor”.

Mr. Holland is survived by his wife of nine years, Sherry D. Holland of Bolivar; his son, Christopher Holland of Olive Branch, MS; his stepdaughter, Sherridan Ervin of Bolivar; his stepson, Clayton Ervin of Bolivar; his mother, Patty Moss Young; his sister, Lisa Juneau of Collierville; his brother, Mark Holland of Las Vegas, NV; and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jodie Holland; his biological father, Bill Carlton; and his brother, Steve Holland.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Hebron Baptist Church, 2580 Hebron Road, Middleton, TN 38052.
