Edith Maxine Rowland Tipps, age 95, resident of Memphis and wife of the late Billy Hal Tipps, died Wednesday afternoon, August 29, 2018 at her residence.
A Graveside Service for Mrs. Tipps will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the Seward Cemetery in Eads. Rev. Daniel Rojcewick will be the officiating minister. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Tipps was born October 14, 1922 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Timothy Hubert Rowland and Fannie Sue Seward Rowland. She moved with her family at an early age to Fayette County and was a graduate of Fayette County High School. She married July 6, 1941 to Billy Hal Tipps who preceded her in death on July 12, 2007, was a homemaker throughout her life and was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Tipps is survived by two daughters, Anita Cattaneo of Burlison, TN, Pamela Stokes (Earl) of Norfolk, VA; her sister, Rebecca Crane of Eads, TN; and three grandchildren, Robin Lynn Davis, Christopher Hall Carothers and Sharon Faltus.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Fayette County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, c/o Christine Parks, 402 Midland Street, Somerville, TN 38068.
