Edward Adams, age 89, resident of Eads, Tennessee and husband of Nancy Chumney Adams, departed this life Sunday morning, March 20, 2022 at his home.
Edward was born May 18, 1932 in Craighead County, Arkansas, the son of the late Arthur Adams and Ottie Bell Belk Adams. He was married January 4, 1963 in Memphis, Tennessee to Nancy Chumney Adams. He was employed as a millwright mechanic for Firestone Tire & Rubber Company, retiring in 1987, and then was employed at The Solae Company, retiring in 1999.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nancy Adams of Eads, TN; his daughter, Vickie Berry (Mark) of Somerville, TN; his son, Dewayne Adams (Anita) of Collierville, TN; four sisters, JoAnn Belinc of Pope, MS, Verniece Halter of Leechville, AR, Edith Henderson of Keiser, AR and Margaret Baker of Harrisburg, AR; his brother, Bill Adams of Windermere, FL; four grandchildren, Ethan Adams (Erin) of Wood River, IL, Ashton H. Adams of Collierville, TN, Lindsay Berry of Somerville, TN and Landon Berry of Somerville, TN; and two great-grandsons, Jayce Langston of Wood River, IL and Weston Demond of Wood River, IL.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Bowman and Ima Morgan and his brother, Harold Adams.
Funeral Services for Mr. Adams were held at 3 P.M. Thursday, March 24, 2022 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Dr. Kenneth “Ken” Culver, pastor of Warren Community Church in Somerville, officiating. Interment was at 10 A.M. Friday, March 25, 2022 at Scotts Hill Pentecostal Church Cemetery in Scotts Hill, Tennessee.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor’s choice.
