Edward Lee Davis

February 3, 1934 — January 24, 2015

Edward Lee Davis, age 80, resident of the Somerville Community, retired mechanic for Coors Brewing Company and husband of Evelyn Key Davis, departed this life Saturday, January 24, 2015 at his residence.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Davis will be conducted at 2 P.M. Wednesday, January 28th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with visitation one hour before service. Interment will be in the Hood Cemetery in the Warren Community. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Davis was born February 3, 1934 in Hornbeak, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Edward Davis and Hazel Lee Davis. He received his education in the Shelby County Public School System and was a graduate of Humes High School in Memphis. He was married October 17, 1978 to the former Evelyn Key, who survives.

Mr. Davis was employed as a mechanic for Coors Brewery for over 25 years before his retirement. He was a resident of the Somerville Community and a member of Feathers Chapel Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles, horseback riding, deer and squirrel hunting and coon hunting in earlier years. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 996 and the Gold Wing Road Riders Association Club W-2.

In addition to his wife of 36 years, Mr. Davis is survived by his daughter, Cathy Lee Foster (Thomas R.) of Somerville, his son, Michael Edward Davis of Somerville; his sister, Doris E. Alexander of Jackson, TN; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Larry Keith Davis and his sister, Lillian Janelle Hicks.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers will be Ricky Garrett, Tommy Foster, Mick Tammaro, Bryan Marcellina, Gavin Vinson and Christopher Keith.

The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
