Elizabeth Jane (Gower) Hudgins

Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Gower Warren McCormick Hudgins was born January 25, 1927 in Memphis, TN. She died December 24, 2014. She worked in her early years at Woolworth’s Downtown, Sears Crosstown and Flexsonic Plant until it closed and moved away. Then she went to beauty school and fixed hair for 10 years. After that she went to work at Goldsmith’s for the next 18½ years until they closed and she retired.

In the midst of all these years, she raised 8 children as a single mom. She was a Girl Scout leader, a Boy Scout leader and she also helped raise a lot of her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother and the best friend anyone could have. She was a loving and sharing friend and neighbor to too many to mention.

Mrs. Hudgins is survived by her 8 children, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wayne Warren of Memphis, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Dee Warren of Hot Springs, AR, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Edward Warren of Memphis, Mrs. Patricia Elizabeth Warren Money of Burlison, TN, Ms. Cheryl Ann Warren Patterson of Mercer, TN, Mr. and Mrs. Benny Joseph Warren of Mercer, TN, Mr. Michael Allen McCormick of Medon, MI, Mr. Charles Edward McCormick of Mississippi; her sister, Mary Frances Styers of Bartlett; 18 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Hudgins said she wanted to thank her children for loving her and taking care of her. She said she loves each and every one of her eight children and their family and she will see you all again in Heaven!

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Hudgins will be at 11 A.M. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8151 Chimneyrock Blvd, Cordova, TN 38016.
