Elizabeth Rose "Betty" Gardner White, age 65, resident of Somerville, died Monday afternoon, September 11, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.
A Memorial Service for Ms. White will be conducted at 11 A.M. Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church in Somerville with Pastor Charles "Charlie" Emerson, pastor of the Almond Union of Churches in Almond, New York, officiating. Interment will be private. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Ms. White was born April 19, 1952 in Wellsville, New York. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roland Gardner and Hilda Doersam Gardner. She received her education at Alfred Station, New York and was employed as a registered nurse, most recently at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. Ms. White was a member of Faith Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Bartlett and she was a dedicated nurse for 38 years before her retirement.
Ms. White is survived by her daughter, Carissa Naquin of Jackson, Tennessee; two sisters, Linda Emerson (Charlie) of Almond, New York, Heidi Gruhot (Rob) of Gaithersburg, Maryland; two brothers, Roland Gardner of Falls Church, Virginia, Roger Gardner (Penny) of Alfred, New York; and her grandson who was her life, Dylan Andrews of Jackson, Tennessee.
