Ellen Virginia (Breedlove) Davis

Ellen Virginia Breedlove Davis, age 80, resident of Michigan City, Mississippi, departed this life Monday afternoon, December 18, 2017 at Ashland Health and Rehabilitation.

Services of Remembrance for Ms. Davis were conducted at 1 P.M. Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Moscow with Bro. Jimmy Breedlove officiating. Personal remarks were given by Mary Chase Mize, special music was provided by Marilyn Yager and Bro. Bobby Williams spoke at the graveside. Interment followed in the Hickory Grove Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Ms. Davis was born October 1, 1937 in Michigan City, Mississippi. She was a graduate of Draughon’s Business College in Memphis. She was employed with the FBI in Washington, D.C. and was a secretary for Stone Container in Collierville, Tennessee. Ms. Davis was most recently a resident of Michigan City, Mississippi and was a lifelong member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Moscow. She loved life, animals and spending time on the farm with her family. She will be remembered for being a happy person who was quick to laugh, devoted to her family and was a joy to be around.

Ms. Davis is survived by her brother, Morris Breedlove (Pam) of Somerville, TN; three nieces, Jayme Breedlove, Mary Chase Breedlove Mize (Christopher), Beverly Sigler (Tommy); her nephew, Mark Breedlove; and two great-nephews, Brandon Sigler and Derek Sigler (Joanne).

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Addison Breedlove and Annie Louise Watkins Breedlove; her brother, Arnold Breedlove and her niece, Joanna Louise Breedlove.

The family would like to thank the staff of Ashland Health and Rehabilitation for the special care they gave to Ms. Davis.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Tommy Sigler, Brandon Sigler, Derek Sigler, Christopher Mize and Richard Medina. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Breedlove and Mike Breedlove.
