Ellen Corrine “Baby Sister” Dillbeck Glenn, age 81, resident of the Rossville Community and wife of the late Thurman Glenn, departed this life Saturday afternoon, April 5, 2015 at the Methodist LeBonheur Germantown Hospital.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Glenn were conducted at 2 P.M. Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis. Bro. Loyd Shelton was the officiating minister. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Glenn was born March 5, 1934 in the RoEllen Community of Dyer County, Tennessee. She received her education in the Shelby County Public School System and was a graduate of Messick High School in Memphis, Class of 1952. She was married December 14, 1952 to Thurman Glenn, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Glenn was a former resident of Memphis before moving to Rossville in 1982. She was the owner of Big Star in Memphis for a number of years before her retirement. She was a member of Audubon Park Baptist Church in Memphis and enjoyed working puzzle books, riding around town and traveling to countries including France, Monte Carlo and Europe.
Mrs. Glenn is survived by two daughters, Glenda Glenn of Rossville, Sandra Black of Southaven, MS; her son, Robert Glenn (Barbara) of Collierville; her sister, Betty Bunker (Homer) of Hickory Withe; and two grandchildren, Chelsey Black of Collierville and Walker Black, Jr. of Southaven, MS. She also leaves behind her beloved bulldog, “Murphy”.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Forbes.
