Emma Estell Sprayberry Tinnen, age 78, resident of Honolulu, Hawaii and former resident of Fayette County, departed this life Wednesday, July 27, 2016.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Tinnen were conducted at 1 P.M. Monday, August 8, 2016 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Jeremy Arnold of Henderson, Tennessee, officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in the District 15 Community. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Tinnen was born September 25, 1937 in Tennessee. She was of the Choctaw - American Indian heritage and she received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and was married May 13, 1969 to Charles Raymond “Skeeter” Tinnen. Mrs. Tinnen was of the Baptist faith and was employed in the food and restaurant industry much of her life. She was an avid golfer who enjoyed gardening and preparing food for her family.
Mrs. Tinnen is survived by two daughters, Rachel Crossno (Bob) of Honolulu, HI, Susan Potter of Memphis; her brother, James Sprayberry; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Raymond “Skeeter” Tinnen; her parents, Lesley Sprayberry and Ida A. Bond Sprayberry; two sons, Thomas Harold Polk and David Harold Polk; and four brothers, J.D. Sprayberry, Lavoy Sprayberry, Shorty Sprayberry and Harold Dean Sprayberry.
