Eric John Squirrell

Eric John Squirrell, age 83, resident of Somerville and husband of Fiona M. Squirrell, departed this life Saturday morning, May 6, 2017 at the Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville.

A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Squirrell was held at 6 P.M. Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Faith Church of God in Somerville. Interment was private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Squirrell was born June 28, 1933 in Hintlesham Essex, England. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Squirrell and Gladys Mabel Hart Squirrell. He received his education in Essex, England and was married March 30, 1963 to the former Fiona Martin. Mr. Squirrell was employed as a supervisor at Electrolux and then he worked in landscaping before his retirement. He had been a resident of Somerville since 2014 and was a member of the Faith Church of God and the Masonic Lodge of Port Chester, New York. Mr. Squirrell enjoyed fishing and working with horses.

Mr. Squirrell is survived by his wife, Fiona Martin Squirrell of Somerville, TN; three daughters, Christine Halmose (Jack) of Sandy Hook, CT, Susan Supliski of Menands, NY, Betty Tassone of Cos Cob, CT; his son, Robert E. Squirrell (Anita) of Moscow, TN; his sister, Monica Sargeant of Essex, England; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
