Euphrey Lee (Bishop) Stainback

Euphrey Lee Bishop Stainback, age 100, resident of Memphis, former longtime resident of Fayette County and wife of the late John Ed Stainback, departed this life Thursday evening, September 1, 2016 at her residence.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Stainback were conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Grady Camp, pastor of the New Prospect Primitive Baptist Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Parks Chapel Cemetery in the District 15 Community of Fayette County. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Stainback was born August 12, 1916 in Fayette County. She was married December 7, 1935 to John Ed Stainback and she was a longtime resident of the Somerville area before moving to Memphis to be close to her family. Mrs. Stainback was employed with Salant & Salant in Somerville as a seamstress before her retirement and was most recently a member of the Raleigh Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed preparing food, gardening, babysitting and special times with her family.

Mrs. Stainback is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Oliver of Memphis; her sister, Peggy Bishop of Whiteville; her brother, Johnny Bishop (Sarah) of Somerville; four grandchildren, Eddie Oliver (Toni) of Memphis, Kenny Oliver (Robin) of Memphis, Gwen Waddell (Mike) of Oakland, John Oliver of Whiteville; eight great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ed Stainback who died December 13, 1978; her parents, William Homer Bishop and Lela Ressie Rogers Bishop; three sisters and three brothers.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Mike Waddell, Michael Waddell, John Oliver, John Oliver, Jr., Steve Lee and Trey Oliver. Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Bishop and David Pulliam.
