Eva (Ferge) Thompson

June 12, 1933 — December 22, 2014

Eva Ferge Thompson, age 81, resident of the Somerville Community and wife of the late Earl L.T. Thompson, departed this life Monday morning, December 22, 2014 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Thompson will be conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, December 26th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with visitation two hours before services. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in the District 15 Community. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Thompson was born June 12, 1933 in the Laconia Community. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Ferge and Ethel Pittman Ferge. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and was married December 17, 1949 to Earl L.T. Thompson. Mr. Thompson preceded her in death on October 26, 2002. Mrs. Thompson served as a bus driver for the Fayette County School System before her retirement.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by two daughters, Thelma Kee (Eugene) of Somerville, Selena Markle (Ronald) of Middleton; her son, David Earl Thompson (Wanda) of Somerville; her sister, Betty Rogers of Laconia; two brothers, Bailey Ferge (Hazel) of Laconia, Donald Ferge (Simone) of Somerville; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Velma Wilson, Geneva Crafton, Sara Wise; two brothers, Cobb Ferge, Jack Ferge; and her grandson, Allen Thompson.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers will be Jerry Lee Howard, John Sullivan, Waylon Ferge, Joey Ferge, Brian Ferge and Al Dunn.

Honorary casketbearers will be Corey Holley, Colby Shelby, Ray Ferge, Randy Lane Andrews and Albert Ray Thompson.

The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
