Eva Nell (Treadway) Carden

February 24, 1933 — October 3, 2015

Eva Nell Treadway Carden, age 82, resident of Holly Springs, Mississippi, native of Rossville and wife of Harold Carden, departed this life Saturday evening, October 3, 2015 at the Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Carden were conducted at 3 P.M. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. The officiants were Dave Phillips of Germantown Church of Christ and Todd Sanderson of Holly Springs Church of Christ. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Carden was born February 24, 1933 in Rossville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Franklin Treadway and Eva Elizabeth McCulley Treadway. She was a graduate of Fayette County High School Class of 1951 and was married February 6, 1954 to Harold Carden, who survives. Mrs. Carden was a resident of Holly Springs, Mississippi for 37 years and a member of the Holly Springs church of Christ. She enjoyed shopping, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia, reading, baking Scotch-R-Roos and gardening. She will be remembered as a family-oriented person who enjoyed special times with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of 61 years, Mrs. Carden is survived by her daughter, Terri Carden Grisham (Jerry) of Germantown; her brother, Dale Treadway (Lu) of Jackson, TN; three grandchildren, Christy Tognetti (Nathan) of Germantown, Elizabeth Swift (Evan) of Memphis, John Matthew Grisham of Memphis; and three great grandsons, Grayson, Ellis and Miller Tognetti.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Carolyn Brown and her husband, Otis Brown.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Steve Gosselin, Mike Brown, Cory Brown, Evan Swift, Nathan Tognetti and Brent Roberts.

The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
