Evelyn Mae Keller Graham, longtime resident of the Somerville Community, and wife of the late Aulton Fred Graham, departed this life Wednesday morning, April 4, 2012, at her residence. She was 92 years of age.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Graham were conducted at 12 Noon Saturday, April 7th at the First Presbyterian Church of Somerville with Dr. John Michael Krech, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment followed in the Rehobeth Cemetery near Somerville. Arrangements were provided by the Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Graham was born January 21, 1920, in the Bolivar Community, the daughter of the late Tom Keller and the former Jennie Bell Walton. She was educated in the Bolivar Public School System and was married on January 21, 1938 to Aulton Fred “Britch” Graham, a well-known retired Fayette County cattleman and farmer, who preceded her in death on August 15, 1986.
A member of the Somerville First Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Graham was a homemaker throughout her life. She had been a resident of Fayette County for 74 years. Mrs. Graham will be remembered for her kind and loving ways as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law and aunt. She was a full-time traditional homemaker who loved her home. She was known by her family as a wonderful cook. Mrs. Graham helped care for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and would prepare them a snack whenever they asked regardless of the time of day. She had a “green thumb” which contributed to her love for gardening and flowers.
Mrs. Graham is survived by 2 daughters, Janice Whitlow (Wheeler) of Savannah, TN and Linda Miller (Bobby Joe) of Somerville; 3 grandchildren, Mimi Kelley (Raymond) of Somerville, Michael Miller (Cindy) of Somerville and Steven Miller of Springfield, MO; 6 great-grandchildren, Valerie Kelley Griffin (Jonathan) of Memphis, Brittany Kelley of Memphis, Alec Miller of Chattanooga, Ryan Miller of Somerville, Annalise Miller of Springfield, MO and Graham Miller of Springfield, MO; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Alvis Keller and Braun Keller of Bolivar and 3 sisters, Daisy Shearon, Lizzie Arlene Keller and Ada Dee Owens all of Bolivar.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Bill Newby, David Newby, Thomas Larry Keller, Jimmy Graham, Larry Graham, Mickey Graham, Jackson Graham, Jerry Graham, Billy Johns Graham and Barrett Rich. Honorary Casketbearers were Morris Graham. Dr. John Bishop, Dr. John Cude, Neal Griffith, Billy Jean Graham and Dorris Doyle.
