Fannie (Nisly) Helmuth

January 16, 1924 — January 2, 2013

Fannie Nisly Helmuth, resident of Hutchinson, Kansas, former resident of the Whiteville Community and wife of the late Eli Helmuth died Wednesday evening, January 2, 2013 at the Methodist Fayette Hospital in Somerville. She was 88 years of age and died following a brief illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Helmuth were conducted at 2 P.M. Sunday December 6th at the Center Amish Mennonite Church in Hutchinson, Kansas. Officiating ministers were David M. Yoder and Dwight Miller. Interment followed in the West Center Cemetery in  Hutchinson, Kansas. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Helmuth was born January 16, 1924 in Hutchinson, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel M. Nisly and Lizzie J. Borntrager Nisly. She was married August 29, 1950 to Eli B. Helmuth, well-known Whiteville Community area farmer and landowner, who preceded her in death on August 6, 2000.

After her husband’s death, Mrs. Helmuth took baked good and other items to sell at the Farmer’s Market, with her specialties being angel food cakes and homemade noodles. She was of the Amish Mennonite faith and she loved her church and being involved in helping others.

Mrs. Helmuth is survived by three daughters, Lorene Helmuth of Pratts, VA, Wilma Graber (Richard) of Hutchinson, KS, Beth Helmuth of Hutchinson, KS; two sons, Raymond Helmuth (Esther) of Laconia, Willard Helmuth of Hutchinson, KS; eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Helmuth was preceded in death by two sisters, three brothers, a sister-in-law and a great granddaughter, Emily Sue Helmuth.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Eric Graber, Jason Graber, Kendrick Graber, Lyndon Helmuth, Conrad Helmuth and Anthony Helmuth.
Honorary casketbearers were Ryan Helmuth, David Lee Miller, Clayton Nisly, Arlyn Nisly, Jonathan Cablentz and Jacob Nisly.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Whiteville Mennonite Church, 7065 Whiteville Corner Drive, Whiteville, TN 38075.
