FERRELL RAY GREEN
November 26, 1932 — January 25, 2010
FERRELL RAY GREEN, retired Corrugated Industry Manager, and a resident of the Collierville Community with extended family members in Fayette County died Monday morning, January 25, 2010 at the Memphis Veteran's Administration Medical Center where he had been a patient for a month. He was 77 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Private Committal Services with Military Honors were conducted for Mr. Green at 11 a.m. Friday, February 5th, and interment followed in the West Tennessee Veteran's Cemetery at Germantown. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Green was born November 26, 1932 in Mabank, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Baugh Green and Willie Joy Darby Green.
He received his education in the Texas Public School System and was married March 24, 1956 to the former Edna Adell Brown of Little Rock, Arkansas, who survives.
He was a United States Army Veteran who served his country during the Korean War Period.
Mr. Green had been involved in the Corrugated Industry for over fifty years and retired in a Management position with the industry fifteen years ago.
He was a former resident of Bethany, Oklahoma before moving to West Tennessee thirty-one years ago.
Mr. Green dedicated his life to his strong work ethic and will be remembered as a family-oriented person who enjoyed special times with his wife, children and granddaughters.
In addition to his wife of fifty-three years, survivors of Mr. Green include his daughter, Cheryl Lee (Jim Wilson) of Ashland, MS; his son, Jeff Green of Collierville; three sisters: Johnnie Morgan of Italy, TX; Dorothy Byrd of Sacramento, CA and Lessie O. Callahan of San Antonio, TX and two granddaughters, Brandy Green of Sharon, TN and Melissa Green of Decatur, IL.
