Frances Faye Burrow Allen,
resident of Tunica, Mississippi and former resident of the Gallaway Community died at the Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven on Tuesday morning, December 14, 2010
. She was 63 years of age and died following a brief illness.
Graveside services for Mrs. Allen were conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, December 20
th
with Rev. Loyd Shelton of Rossville, officiating. Interment followed in the R. H. Munford Cemetery in Covington. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes—Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Allen was born October 14, 1947 in Memphis, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Burrow and Mary Frances Harper Burrow. She was educated in the Braden Public School System and was a homemaker for much of her life. She was of the Baptist Faith and had been a resident of Fayette and Tipton Counties for many years before moving to Tunica to reside with her daughter.
Mrs. Allen served as a mother to many and was a caregiver to family members. Her interests included flowers, shopping with her family and caring for her grandchildren. Mrs. Allen was devoted to making others happy.
Survivors of Mrs. Allen include her daughters, Debra Chilcutt and Wendy Hadley, both of Tunica, Mississippi, her sisters, Cornelia McDonald of Senatobia, MS, Evelyn Paden of Gallaway, Mary Ruth Morris of St. Louis, MO, Nancy Curtis of Brighton, Linda Casey of Jackson, TN, Becky Spitzer of Bartlett, her brothers, Billy Burrow of Arlington, Claude Richard Burrow of Tunica, Charles Otha Burrow of Memphis, seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Family and friends served as casketbearers and the family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor’s choice.
