Frances Laverne Smith Beott, age 98, resident of the Somerville Community and retired Executive Assistant from Allen-Ohara, passed away peacefully at Baptist Memorial Hospital on October 23, 2015.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Beott were conducted at 1 P.M. Tuesday, October 27th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. The officiating ministers were Dr. Ken Story and Dr. Steve Stone. Interment followed in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Beott was born June 21, 1917 in Memphis, TN. She received her education in the Shelby County School System and was a 1935 graduate of Whitehaven High School. A member of First Baptist Church in Somerville, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, had a special love for animals and loved watching animal television shows throughout her life.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Pattie Beott Lessel (Ray) of Somerville, Carol Ann Sieder (Burt) of Howey-In-The-Hills, FL; one son, Michael Ben Beott (Sandy) of Kuttawa, KY; nine grandchildren, Douglas L. Smith, Danny Ogren, Craig A. Smith, Christina A. Smith, Brian M. Raines, Thomas Barry Lessel, Jeremiah J. Raines, Lara Sieder, Rod Sieder and ten great-grandchildren.
She was reunited with her parents, Benjamin Joshua “B.J.” Smith and Nellie Reid Smith and her three siblings.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Friends of Fayette County Animal Control and Shelter, Inc. c/o Carolann Mason, P.O. Box 443, Somerville, TN 38068.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Douglas Smith, Brian Raines, Barry Lessel and Jeremiah Raines.
