Frances Evelyn “Fran” Vaughn Smith, resident of the Moscow Community and retired employee of the Carrier Corporation in Collierville departed this life Thursday morning, October 31, 2013 at her residence. She was 57 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Services for Mrs. Smith will be at 2 Sunday afternoon, November 10th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel at Oakland with visitation one hour before services. A Private Interment will be in the Friendship Cemetery at Moscow. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Smith was born December 8, 1955 in Fayette County, the daughter of Juanita Vaughn and the late Harry Vaughn. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and had been a resident of the Moscow Community for much of her life.
Mrs. Smith had been employed by the Carrier Corporation in Collierville for a number of years before her retirement. She was of the Baptist faith and will be remembered as a people-person who enjoyed activities with her family and friends. She received much pleasure in caring for her pet canines.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her longtime companion, Ronald Franklin “Peanut” Tice of Moscow; two sons, Brian Tipler (DeeDee) of Lakeland, Charles Smith of Collierville; her mother, Juanita Vaughn of Memphis; her sister, Sheila Mask of Moscow; and her granddaughter, Cary Anne Tipler.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor’s choice.
