FRANKLIN LAWRENCE "FRANK" BIAS

July 8, 1929 — May 12, 2008

FRANKLIN LAWRENCE "FRANK" BIAS, resident of the Oakland Community and husband of Helen Gill Bias, died at 8:05 A.M. Monday, May 12, 2008 at his residence on Gardenview Drive. He was 78 years of age.


Funeral arrangements for Mr. Bias were private and were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.


A native of Brooklyn, NY, Mr. Bias was born July 8, 1929, and was educated in the New York Public School system. He served as Vice-President of the Maryland National Memorial Park Cemetery and was also associated with All Stones Memorials in Suitland, MD, before his retirement. He moved to the Oakland area of Fayette County to be near family after his retirement.


Mr. Bias will be remembered as a person devoted to his work and was an avid "Redskins" sports fan.


In addition to his wife, Mr. Bias is survived by two daughters: Catherine Filcek of Oakland and Helen Planet of the Fisherville Community; three sons: Randy Bias of Oakland, Anthony Griffin of Laurel, MD and Jerry Griffin of Tampa, FL and 17 grandchildren.


The family request that Memorials be directed to the charity or organization of the donor's choice.
