Frank "Red" Oliver

James Franklin (Frank) “Red” Oliver, age 81, resident of Collierville and husband of Dorothy Lazenby Oliver, departed this life Wednesday morning, December 23, 2015 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Collierville.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Oliver were conducted at 11 A.M. Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Rickey Burns, pastor of the Willison Baptist Church, officiating. Personal remarks were given by Terry Norris. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery at Williston. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Oliver was born May 15, 1934 in Somerville. He received his education in the Fayette County Public School System and was married June 12, 1953 to the former Dorothy Lazenby. He was a resident of Fayette County for much of his life before moving to Collierville. Mr. Oliver was employed at Bell-Memphis/Ace Pump for 51 years before his retirement. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed outdoor activities that included fishing, gardening, farming and his cows.

Mr. Oliver is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Lazenby Oliver of Collierville; three sons, Gary Oliver (Peggy) of Williston, James Michael “Mike” Oliver of Collierville, John Mitchell “Mitch” Oliver (Thressa) of Collierville; his sister, Patsy Floyd (Bill) of Maryville, TN; two brothers, Jerry Oliver of Collierville, Larry Oliver (Brenda) of Somerville; ten grandchildren, Julia Yager, Matt Oliver, Greg Oliver, Mark Oliver, Brittany Patterson, Austin Oliver, Andrew Oliver, Lauren Jordan, Brandon Oliver, Lindsey Oliver; and nine great grandchildren, Tyler Oliver, Payton Oliver, Shelby Yager, Gracie Yager, Hunter Oliver, Autumn Oliver, Leiyah Oliver, Garrett Oliver and Addison Oliver.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hulon Autrey Oliver and Cora Virginia Foote Oliver and three brothers, Kyle Oliver, Gilbert Oliver and Herbert Oliver.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Matt Oliver, Greg Oliver, Mark Oliver, Austin Oliver, Andrew Oliver, Brandon Oliver, Rich Yager and Stan Patterson.
