Fred Henry Anthony

Fred Henry Anthony, age 76, resident of Henning, Tennessee, departed this life Monday morning, February 12, 2024 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Fred was born November 23, 1947 Somerville, Tennessee, the son of the late Claude Anthony and Dollie White Anthony. He was employed as a farmhand for many years and enjoyed watching Western movies, reading Western books, Civil War history and Hank Williams.

Mr. Anthony is survived by his daughter, Sandra Anthony; two sons, James Anthony (Amy) and Fred Anthony; four sisters, Marie McGary of Terrell, TX, Lena Mae Sweeten of Laconia, TN, Linnie Wadell of Mason, TN and Virginia Smith of Kaufman, TX; his brother, James E. Anthony of Mason, TN; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine brothers and one sister.

Funeral Services for Mr. Anthony were held at 2 P.M. Monday, February 19, 2024 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Kevin Treadway officiating. Interment followed in Shady Grove Cemetery at Williston.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were James Anthony, Jr., William Anthony, Chris Gray, Chris Everett, Dalton Roark and Reuben Meyer.
