God calls another Angel home-ALFREDA STATEN "FREDA" BROCK, resident of the 45 Community near Moscow died Sunday afternoon, October 18, 2009 at the St. Francis Hospital in Memphis where she had been a patient for two weeks. She was 68 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brock were conducted at 11 A.M. Wednesday, October 21st at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Tony Watkins of Somerville, officiating. Interment followed in the Friendship Cemetery at Moscow. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Brock was born January 13, 1941 in Tyronza, Arkansas the daughter of the late Raleigh Staten and the late Pearl Coin Staten.
She received her education in the Tyronza Public School System and was married September 14, 1957 to Burnie William Brock, a retired Security Guard for Bud Davis Cadillac Company in Memphis, who survives.
Mrs. Brock was a homemaker throughout her life and in earlier years was employed by the Troxel Manufacturing Company in Moscow.
She was a member of the 45 Baptist Church and had been a resident of the Moscow Community since 1969.
Mrs. Brock lived a life committed to her family. She had a deep sense of pride and love for her children and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her husband of fifty-two years, survivors of Mrs. Brock include five daughters: Becky Arnold (Aaron) of Pace, FL; Pam Murray of Williston; Tammy Rutledge (Frank) of Horn Lake, MS; and Vickey Pittman (Carl) and Sandi White (Neil), both of Bolivar; her son, Kenny Brock (Terry) of Moscow; her sister, Tine Cossey of Trumann, AR; twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as casket bearers were Derrick Arnold, Jamie Arnold, Michael Bingham, Troy Brock, Justin Crotwell, Brandon Fielden, Scottie Fielden and Steven Leverette.
Aaron Arnold, Carl Pittman, Timothy Pittman, Tony Pittman, Frank Rutledge, Jack White, Marc White, Neil White and Robert White were honorary casket bearers.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor's choice.
