Gail (Tapp) Boyer
March 22, 1966 — July 22, 2017
Gail Tapp Boyer, age 51, resident of Somerville and wife of Alan Boyer, departed this life Saturday evening, July 22, 2017 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Boyer were conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Mike Pilcher, pastor of the Munford First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Bethlehem Cemetery near Stanton, Tennessee. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Boyer was born March 22, 1966 in Somerville, Tennessee. She was a graduate of Fayette Academy in Somerville and was married March 28, 1987 to Alan Boyer. She was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church and enjoyed collecting angels, music boxes and Thomas Kinkade figurines. Mrs. Boyer will be remembered as a family-oriented person who loved taking care of her daughter.
Mrs. Boyer is survived by her husband of 30 years, Alan Boyer of Somerville, TN; her daughter, Cynthia Grace Boyer of Somerville, TN; her parents, Paul Thomas “Tom” Tapp and Joyce Norton Tapp of Somerville, TN; and three sisters, Diane Jones (Billy) of Somerville, TN, Becky Baker (David) of Hickory Valley, TN and Janice Holland (Billy) of Somerville, TN. She also leaves her father-in-law, John C. Boyer of Aubrey, AR; her brother-in-law, Kenneth Simmons; her sister-in-law, Delores Holland; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Margie Boyer; her sister-in-law, Sherry Simmons; and two brothers-in-law, Johnny Boyer and Sammy Boyer.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Alan Boyer, Billy Jones, Billy Holland, David Baker, Clint Doyle and Steve Tapp. Honorary pallbearers were Brent Clack, Len Doyle, Darren Arrowsmith, Jonathan Baker and William Jones.
