Gary Wayne Comstock

Gary Wayne Comstock, age 64, of Arlington, Tennessee, was freed from his weary earthly body on April 13, 2018. He joyfully without pain left for his permanent home in Heaven.

His best friend and wife of 32 years, Beth Elaine Comstock, will miss him terribly and wait for their great reunion. Gary’s legacy includes a daughter, Sandi Renae (Todd); two sons, David Michael Comstock and Phillip J. Eldridge (PJ); two sisters, Sandra Wood (Terry), Kelly Branam (Cindy); and a host of family and friends. Granddaddy was Gary’s favorite word in the world and he loved his four grandchildren: Morgan, Savannah, Cole and Riley.  Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Juanita Comstock and his younger brother, Tim Comstock.

Gary was a member of the Arlington United Methodist Church where he enjoyed another family of believers and friends. Gary was a retired elevator mechanic with 34 years of service. He loved playing guitars, camping, building things around the house and his cats. Gary never let cancer control him but lived bravely and thankfully every day he walked the earth. He loved the Lord and looked forward to getting some questions answered. Rest peacefully my love, Gary, you were a treasure on earth and so loved.

Services of Remembrance for Gary were conducted at 3 P.M. Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Arlington United Methodist Church at 6145 Quintard Street, with Greg Chapman officiating. Interment followed in the Arlington Cemetery with Larry Woodruff officiating. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were David Durant, Terry Wood, Al Durant, Mitchell Carter, Zach Branam and John James. Honorary pallbearers were Taylor Branam and Ben Racher.
