GENEVA JO MARTIN, beloved mother and sister, was called peacefully home to God at her Somerville residence on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 9:20 A.M. She was 78 years of age and died following an extended illness.
A Celebration Of Life Service was held for Ms. Martin at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 26th at the District 15 Christian Center with Rev. Boyce Wilson, Pastor of the church, officiating. Interment was private and arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.
Ms. Martin was born to Fred and Maude McGuiness Martin in Cord, Arkansas on July 10, 1930 and was educated in the Arkansas Public School System.
A charter member of the District 15 Christian Center, Ms. Martin was preceded in death by two brothers, John D. Martin of Leesburg, Florida and Alfred R. Martin of Haines City, FL and two daughters, Patricia D. Owens of Michigan City, Indiana and Christine Martin of Tuckerman, AR.
Ms. Martin is survived by four sisters: Mary Petersen of Mt. Dora, FL; Millie Dings of Berrien Center, MI; Renee Isbell of Lakeville, IN and Brenda Slocum of Fordage, MI; three brothers: Larry Martin of Somerville and Vaugh and Tony Martin, both of Kalamazoo, MI; her children, Daniel Dorn of Mishawaka, Indiana; Tom O'Brien of Ligonier, IN and Lorie Orbin and Nickole Postelwait, both of Somerville; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
May God hold you close in His arms until we see you again. You are and always will be missed and loved.
