Geneva Orman Snell, age 90, longtime resident of the Macon Community and wife of the late Samuel Howard Snell, departed this life Thursday morning, August 27, 2015 at the Signature Healthcare of Memphis.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Snell will be conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with interment in the Macon Cemetery. A visitation for Mrs. Snell will be from 1 until 2 P.M. Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Snell was born May 8, 1925 in Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vird Orman and Emily Miller Orman. She received her education in the Mississippi School System and was the wife of Samuel Howard Snell, who preceded her in death on September 29, 2006. Mrs. Snell was a member of the Somerville Church of Christ and enjoyed preparing food, fishing, camping and flowers.
Mrs. Snell is survived by her son, Raymond Snell (Cindy) of Macon, three grandchildren, Marty Jones of Collierville, Jessica Millspaugh (Jason) of Brownsville, and Dillon Nix (Amy) of Somerville; and three great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sylvia Forbess Jones and four sisters, Lucille Claunch, Earlene Claunch, Dora Hollingsworth and Lillie Smith.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Dillon Nix, Jason Millspaugh, Rudy Doyle, Jimmy Clements, Randy Summerville, and Rob Thompson.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Somerville Church of Christ, 15925 U.S. Highway 64, Somerville, TN 38068.
