Geneva (Price) Youngblood

October 18, 1935 — April 22, 2012

Geneva Price Perkins Youngblood, resident of the Herb Parsons Lake area in Fayette County and retired law firm secretary died at the Signature Health Care Center in Memphis where she had been resided for two years. She was 76 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Youngblood were conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, April 26th at Bethany Christian Church in the Eads Community with Pastor Furniss Harkness of the church officiating. Interment followed in the Bethany Christian Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — West Chapel of Oakland.

Mrs. Youngblood was born October 18, 1935 in the Whiteville Community of Hardeman County. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Price and Ruby Wilson Price. She was educated in the Whiteville, Eads and Collierville School Systems and was a graduate of the Germantown High School.

Mrs. Youngblood served as an executive secretary for various law firms in the Memphis area for over 25 years before her retirement and had been a resident of the Herb Parsons Lake area in Fayette County for the past 14 years. She was a member of the Bethany Christian Church and in earlier years served as pianist and organist for her church. She enjoyed special times with family and friends and enjoyed fishing and sewing.

Mrs. Youngblood is survived by her daughter, Laura Perkins Grove (Terry) of Collierville; two sons, Mike Perkins (Jennifer) of Brownsburg, IN, Barry Perkins (Diane) of Parker, TX; her sister, Dorothy Hooker of Somerville; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Mrs. Youngblood was preceded in death by her sister, Katherine Dolan; and three brothers, Johnny Price, Harold Price and James Price.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Mike Perkins, Barry Perkins, Terry Grove, Johnny Hendrick, Joe Atkins and Sean Kocur.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Bethany Christian Church, 421 Bethany Road, Eads, TN 38028.
