George T. Phillips

George Thomas Phillips, age 83, resident of Whiteville, Tennessee and husband of the late Opal Phillips, departed this life Friday, February 5, 2021 at Bolivar General Hospital in Bolivar, Tennessee.

George was born February 13, 1937 in Hardeman County, Tennessee, the son of the late Noah Phillips and Mattie Walk Phillips. He received his education at Mt. Moriah School in Whiteville and was the store operator for Phillips Grocery in Whiteville for many years.

Mr. Phillips is survived by his sister, Lurlene Scates of Henderson, TN; his brother, Gene Phillips of Whiteville, TN; and two grandsons, Kenneth Phillips and Richie Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Phillips who died in September of 2020.

Graveside Services for Mr. Phillips were held at 1 P.M. Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in the Hillville Community.
