George Alfred Price, Sr.

George Alfred Price, Sr., age 81, resident of Somerville and husband of Laura C. Price, departed this life Sunday morning, November 13, 2016 at his residence.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Price were conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro.David Reeves, pastor of the Midway Baptist Church in Whiteville, officiating. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery at Williston. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Price was born August 26, 1935 in Williston, Tennessee. He received his education in the Fayette County School System and was married December 21, 1956 to the former Laura Cocke. He was a former resident of Memphis for 20 years before moving back to Fayette County in 1977. Mr. Price was employed as a sign builder at Frank Balton Sign Company for over 30 years and at Jerry Peck Sign Company. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 55 years. Mr. Price was a member of the Williston Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and welding. He will be remembered for being mechanically inclined who loved working on things.
Mr. Price is survived by wife of almost 60 years, Laura C. Price of Somerville, TN; two sons, George A. Price, Jr. (Charlotte) of Somerville, TN, John S. Price of Hernando, MS; two brothers, Donnie Price (Barbara) of Missouri, Larry Wayne “Bootsy” Price (Carolyn) of Bolivar, TN; six grandchildren, Bryan Price, Kevin Price, Andrew Price, Michael Price, Chris Price, Ben Price; and his great-granddaughter, Eden Price.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Price and Louise Smith Price; his sister, Mary Ann Baker; and three brothers, Thomas Price, Bobby Price and Billy Price.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Chris Price, Ben Price, Bryan Price, Michael Price and Kevin Price.
