Gladys (Crump) Lazenby

December 22, 1915 — November 4, 2015

Gladys Crump Lazenby, age 99, resident of the Williston Community and wife of the late James Humphreys Lazenby, departed this life Wednesday evening, November 4, 2015 at the National Healthcare Center in Somerville.

Memorial Services for Mrs. Lazenby were conducted at 12:30 P.M. Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Paul Lore, pastor of the Shiloh United Methodist Church in Somerville, officiating. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Williston. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Lazenby was born December 22, 1915 in Paris, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Watson Crump and Mary Moore Crump. She attended the University of Tennessee College of Medicine from 1941 to 1948, where she received her Bachelor's Degree. Mrs. Lazenby was a devoted member of the Williston Methodist Church and a lifelong resident of Fayette County. She was married to James Humphreys Lazenby, who preceded her in death on October 31, 2006.

Mrs. Lazenby is survived by her nieces and nephews, Jo C. Thompson, Carolyn C. Thompson, James M. Thompson, Jr., Henry A Coats, III, Ashley C. Garner, Jake Garner, Ava Garner, Adam O. Coats, Edwin Thompson and Caroline Thompson. She also leaves her amazingly faithful friends in her church and community.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Lida Crump Coats and Eugenia Biddle.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor's choice.
